No July Monthly Meeting

Due to the fact many members will be unable to make the scheduled July meeting (July 2nd) and it is the day before a long holiday, we will not be having a July monthly meeting. Check back shortly for information regarding the August meeting.

Dues Update

We have contacted ISSA International, and when you join our chapter (or renew), you will not have to pay any additional local chapter dues. For those who have already paid for this year, we will be contacting you to regarding reimbursement of the local chapter dues that you had to pay.

Next Meeting (Jun 04) - How to Pwn Like a Ruby Rockstar - Part 1

Keith Hanson (creator of http://tweetingtoohard.com/) will discuss Ruby programming language and how it can be used for security professionals. This is a two part talk and for part 1 Keith will give an introduction to Ruby and Object Oriented Programming. If you want to get started with Ruby, Keith recommends you download and install Ruby on Rails from here: http://rubyonrails.org/download

We are happy to announce that this chapter is now an (ISC)² Affiliated Local Interest Group (ALIG). According to (ISC)²'s website, ALIG "supports local chapters by helping to grow their memberships, offering enhanced member benefits such as convenient education opportunities and greater access to other local professionals and peer networking opportunities."
